I'll be there during Christmas and my anniversary. This will be my third time visiting, but I've never actually looked for shaving related things I have always been too full of food and drink to move.

edit-That should say anything I should check out shaving wise? Smile

A year or so ago I stumbled across this website: https://www.aidangillformen.com/

However, I have not been to New Orleans since 1984 and have no desire to return. Crime there is off the charts.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

Depends on where you hang out. I love Chicago also, but I know where to stay away from.

I went to Aidan Gill several years ago, and was quite impressed. It's a very nice shop (in a very nice neighborhood) with a tremendous collection of Santa Maria Novella products. I can't remember much else, but I recommend it.

The other thing I remember about Aidan Gill was the signage--in the store, there were signs prohibiting the taking of photos. It seemed very strange, but what do I know?

EFDan, Aidan Gil has two locations. One is downtown in Fulton St. near the casino, Manning’s restaurant, etc. the other location is on Magazine St. jist below Jackson Ave. Go to the Magazine St. location. He will have many of the traditional Old World makers full lineup in stock. D. R. Harris, Trumpers, TOBS, etc. it’s a full service men’s only Barber shop.
If you go don’t miss a meal at Juan’s Flying Burritos! There’s also a really cool hat shop in the next block, opposite side of Magazine, towards Jackson Ave. that is a must visit spot.
About crime here...I’ve said this a million times. If your not buying, selling, dealing or doing drugs you’re no more likely to encounter crime here than anywhere else people consider “safe”. If you are involved in drug dealings here your chances of a problem are about the worst in the world.
Enjoy your stay! If you need more food, music, or entertainment recommendations feel free to hit me up. I love showing off what we do here.
Where are you coming from?

Portland, OR for our anniversary. Leaving on the 25th and getting the hell outta dodge on the 30th before new years eve. Staying down by Jackson Square at the Place D'Armes where we were last April. We were there last spring and I told my wife, "If you go there you'll wanna go back immediately." We got home and she had already booked the hotel for December.
