Sorry to hear more of this is going on. I used to communicate with Srdjan on a regular basis and then he went silent on me a couple years ago. I don’t know what has happened to him but nobody seems to know anything. Even brush makers that he did knots for haven’t heard from him and think he has had some major health issues. I don’t wish any harm on anyone and hope he gets back to doing great knots someday but I am pretty much done. I’ve reached out to him several times out of concern and not a word. Luckily, I was able to
get my last batch of brushes back from him completed after he had them for around 8 months. That was a year after the pandemic started. Since then, nothing.

Living on the edge
Australia is caught up in some bad post-covid shit. I hope nothing bad has happened to him.

I spoke to Srjdan’s sister and asked if he was ok and this was her response, “Hey, he is fine he was in Serbia few months ago. I think he is just really busy with his regular work and infrastructure for making handles and everything is not so great in Australia so he have put that on hold I think.”

Sorry, that’s all I got.

I’ve written a couple of longish responses to this thread in the last week, and then just deleted them before sending…
All I’ll say is I feel bad for everyone who is waiting on him, especially if you have deposit money in for something you were looking forward to receiving in any kind of timely manner. I’m very supportive of the hobby/life balances that the artisans we love deal with, and always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but the lack of communication or interest level here just sucks to read about.

If he is “fine”, being busy is no excuse for not replying/responding, etc to people who have given him money for a service/product.

Absolutely agreed.

This is weird. Not something I would expect from Srdjan. I haven't spoken to him in over a year. Will send a link to this thread to a common friend and see if he knows what's going on. I know he was super busy with work but like you guys said, it's not an excuse.

I have always wanted to deal with him and actually still wanted to grab a knot from him someday but funnily enough this is the first I have heard about this but I was never in the loop about such things. I feel bad for the people that were burned on their purchases as I have paid for an item from a member here but never received it so I know what that is like. It definitely took the wind out of my sails and almost made me turn my back on some aspects of wet shaving.
As with my item shipping to and from the US was absolutely not possible and if it were it would have cost an arm and a leg so I feel that undoubtedly had a hand in this also.

As far as Covid goes we did have a lot of strict policies in place at the time but we have bounced back twice as well as many other countries but it is still out there and he may have come down with Covid also but yes I agree that there should have been some sort of effort to contact customers and business associates. Offering refunds to paying customers would have been great and should have happened but again I don't know the situation.

If I lived nearby and had the kind of relationship that allowed me to check in on him just as a well being thing and have a chat I would. From all counts he was/is a great brush maker. I sincerely hope he is well and everything gets resolved sooner rather than later.

Such a bummer!
