Anyone else preorder iPhone 7

Please don't take this wrong. I got nothing against tech or being an early adopter. I just found that yearly updates have become, IMO, ridiculous. Its a "phone". You make phone calls. Yes, its a computer to. But there is no advantage that I can see here. Its nothing special. And it cost $650 for a new one, not $479.

I think you are 110% right, yearly updates are a total waste of money. Instead of spending $650 on an iPhone, it makes a lot more sense to spend $330 on an unlocked Moto X Pure that is every bit as good. That leaves $150 for some stylin' shaving gear and another $150 to take your girlfriend or wife out to a nice dinner. In my book, a great new phone, new shaving stuff and some sugar on the side beats a new phone only any day.

Technology evolves so rapidly nowadays that phones, computers and a lot of other things are no longer leading edge 6 months after they are released. Some folks take "no longer leading edge" to mean obsolete, but it really means "works just as well as it did when you bought it".

Hey, but if people like buying fancy gadgets all the time, that is their money and their choice. It creates plenty of jobs, too.

I figure if it's your thing, and you can afford it, have at it. The way I see it, every time Apple has a new release it makes the "obselete" phones cheaper for me. I just had to replace my son's phone a month or so ago, and a new 5S cost me $149. Keep them coming!
