I did patina my bronze WR3 with nothing more than hot water. It's not as dark as the official Wolfman dark bronze but I didn't leave it submerged for too long. It has a rainbow sheen when it catches the light.

My understanding is the colors come from oils on your skin andhandling it. I handle my copper brush handles after drying them off and get the same irridescent colors. Yours look amazing by the way.

After the mess I made attempting to patina or antique the brass Blackbird I decided to fully polish the entire razor. After several days the head and handle looked fantastic. However, here is where I screwed up. While polishing I used several grades of sandpaper and finished with 0000 steel wool along with polish. By polishing so much I also removed a lot of material (brass). When I placed a blade in the razor everything appeared okay except I needed earplugs while shaving. There was so much chatter indicating the blade was loose. Taking off material from the top and bottom plates thinned out the clamping process. The shave itself stunk.
Bottom line the head is useless.
If anyone wants a beautiful Blackbird brass handle contact me. I will show you a picture of the handle and give you a very good deal.
