Has anyone seen the latest ad from Gillette and P&G? I'll give my thoughts on it first. All I see is a PERSON who has to shave being taught how to do that by their Dad. Gender doesn't really factor into it. Am I in favor of people changing gender? No. But science and technology have given people the ability to change gender. If someone wants to do that, that is their business. I have no problem with this ad and it won't impact whether I buy Gillette or P&G products in the future. And since GSBs are one of my two or three favorite blades, I'll continue to buy them for the pennies they cost per shave. I don't need to buy carts as I have more than enough to last me for the rest of my life from my cart days as I only use the Mach 3 for travel when carrying on bags. Curious to hear other's thoughts on the latest in the attention getting ads coming from Gillette. And for the record I wasn't bothered by the toxic masculinity ad either. I'm very comfortable in my masculinity and no advertisement is going to change that.

companies arent your friend.
they want to make money. this is fine, but it's best not to forget.
P&G doesnt care about trans people anymore than they care about any other people. they care about you buying their stuff.
it's just so very typical that messages about respecting people for who they are, even when you dont understand it, are being co-opted to try and sell to a generation that genuinely cares about these issues. in the same way that ads in the 80s targeted consumerism, ads in the 50s sold visions of the future, ads between 2008 and say 2016 or 2017 were about being practical.
I will say I find it the literal height of humor, though, that the same people who scream about outrage culture non-stop were spitting mad about that first Gillette ad and probably will be about this one, as well.

Who are you Gillette, a purely profit-driven corporate behemoth, to admonish others or claim any sort of moral authority? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. To those who are hating on the latest Gillette commercial because it features a transgender person, grow the hell up. She/he isn't doing anything to you, so you have no reason to hate on her/him.
What do political correctness or family values have to do with shaving? If it doesn't contribute to my enjoyment of shaving, it is irrelevant and useless, at least on a traditional shaving forum. I would hope that anyone who shaves, a dude, a chick, a transgender person, or anybody else gets a good and enjoyable shave.
All in my humble opinion.

Maybe it is because I was born in the 1940s and grew up with different values. I find the whole thing insane. At any moment I expect Rod Serling to appear on the television and announce that we are in the Twilight Zone ... I won't watch this ad, or the previous controversial Gillette ad. Better things to do.
Normal Rockwell left the building years ago. But part of our deep psychology tends to bring it up from time to time.
To me it’s just like Levi’s commercials now. All geared toward socialism and communism with peoples rights and extremism. It’s laughable at best. Like some stuffed shirt really cares about youth rebelling needing to wear Levi’s. Or learning to shave with putting a bra on (btw....many women shave I recently found out) butneither way it is just to sell and show relativism.
