I just finished listening to Episode S02E15 of Lather Talk with Jon and Gerard bringing in Scott Stewart of Declaration Grooming for a (very) candid discussion on Declaration Grooming, Jefferson brushes and video games.  Its well worth a listen with lots of answers to questions you may have had about Declaration Grooming over the years.

Today was a "road" day for me so I had a good 4 or so hours to listen to podcasts. Put on Lather Talk after seeing your post Marko and, you're right, a very candid discussion. I really liked his explanation on other brush-makers using the Jefferson design. Personally, I would have been upset that someone else was making money on my design/idea/art but the money part didn't seem to bother him.

Despite what some on this forum have suggested, the more his streams followed, the more favour him. While we share literally no interests in common, find his life philosophy and beliefs to be grounded. Actually quite fond of the man.

I hear you DanLaw , the man definitely follows his own path. The shaving with just water because shaving should be hard initially struck me as odd but the more I think about it the more I think he’s on to something. Life can be too easy and it can make us weak and pathetic. Everything in nature responds positively and gets stronger when subjected to challenge or negative stimulus. Building muscle and strength, building stamina and endurance, building character, building a life. All in direct proportion to the effort, work, pain, difficulty and friction expended and experienced. Never easy-nothing good ever comes easily. I’m still using soap in my shave, however.

I do almost all my podcast listening when driving. Four hours is just enough to get an episode of Hardcore History in! I’m waiting for episode 6 of Supernova in the East. I need to do more driving!!

Men of character can not be bought, never forget that. It rare but important to recognize when encountered

Hey Marko , thanks for sharing your thoughts on the episode! We had a great time talking with Scott from Declaration and it's always nice when we can have a good laugh with a guest, as well as some deep insight we normally may not have as a consumer.

You're very welcome  and thank you for doing what you guys do.  Its interesting and sometimes insightful to get to know the artisans that make wet shaving so enjoyable at least a little better and as real people.  Scott is a very interesting person and I find his outlook on life, as much as he shared, to be unique.  I'm not ready to shave with just water and my most vicious razor.  Yet.  Big Grin
