I don't think I've ever seen this before, but there are tons of threads across the web about collections of soaps, creams, aftershaves, razors, strops, etc.

Tonight, it's time to break out the blades. Tally them up, and let's see who can shave 'till they're dead, eh? (But please, make the distinction between "shaving till you're dead," and "shaving yourself to death.")

In my stores:

LOADED: 1 x Rockwell Swedish Stainless (NOT INVENTORIED)

20 x Personna Lab Blue
2 x Personna Med Prep
2 x Personna Israeli Red's
98 x Crystal
10 x SuperMax Stainless
9 x Durablade Sharp
5 x Durablade 7am Hi Platinum
5 x Gillette 7 O'Clock (Green)
1 x Astra Green
5 x Shark Super Stainless
5 x Lord Platinum
10 x Wilkinson Sword (Black)
9 x Feather Hi Stainless
4 x Feather Platinum
100 x Rockwell Swedish Stainless (On Order)
-----------------------------------
285 Total Blades
x 4 Average Blade Lifespan
-----------------------------------
1140 Total Shaves
/ 365 Daily Shaves
-----------------------------------
3.1 Years of Shaving

Some things to keep in mind: Some blades I own are from sample packs purchased a while ago when I first got into shaving, and have been collecting dust. Many of the 10 pack Crystals, as well as homemade 10 packs of Personna's get passed forward to friends I introduce to wet shaving (normally with a Weshi or Maggard razors).

So, let's hear it fellas. Can you shave 'till you're dead?

I'm still chewing through a sampler pack. I've found that even the worst blades I've tested are still reasonable so I'm loathe to throw out any of them, it's more a case of just sucking it up and using them.

My DEs:
4x Astra Superior Platinum
5x Astra Superior Stainless
3x Feather Hi Stainless
5x Feather Hi-Stainless Platinum
5x Gillette 7 O'Clock Green
5x Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow
5x Timor
5x Wilkinson Sword

But the big kicker is the shavette blades:
79x Shark half-blades
15x Feather Professional blades

Assuming 5 shaves for the DEs, 2 for the half-blades and 8 for the Feather Professionals, that's 463 shaves. Assuming I shave 6 days a week, that's about 77 weeks or about 1.5 years.

Enough to last two lifetimes and I only use my blades twice. That's a lot of blades.

I'm estimating 350 blades under the sink. I started with a huge sampler pack of over 200 blades four years ago. Too many brands to name.

I found my favorites and have purchased the following in bulk :
200 Gillette Silver Blue
100 Perma-Sharp
100 Astra SP
100 Feather Yellow

Way too many Wizamet Iridium Supers, especially, now since I started realizing that I can get, approximately, 10 very good shaves on each blade.
I would venture to say I have enough for two lifetimes. Big Grin

Not that many, actually. I use blades three times and off they go, except for the Feathers that get five uses. I made the count and I have enough for this year's worth of shavings. Most of what I've got are Gillette Sharp Edge (yellow) and Super Stainless (green), plus a dozen Feather blades, and a few Astra "blue", Pol Silver and Rapira. I may order some Astra blue when I run out of them.

I don't wanna stockpile on blades, as I like to add some when I make an online order. It usually helps reaching the money sum required to get free shipping.

Do you use a new blade every day?

With the way this election is headed... You might want to stockpile for an apocalypse lol!
