Mallard Passion Fruit (Spicy floral with a juicy citrus note)

Mallard Mango (has an interesting woody tobacco-like vibe in the drydown)

Mallard Raspberry Gateau (Heavenly chocolate note, with a beautifully refined cedarwood in the drydown.)

How would you describe ‘Candy’s scent notes?

It's sweet but not overly so, with a definite candy vibe reminiscent of various citrus fruit candies. There's a hint of gum-like or Starburst citrus and a soft, powdery, tropical undertone that smooths out the citrus notes. The aftershave has a strong presence, it sticks around for a couple of hours.

That sounds great, thanks for the reply!

I don't normally do this with Mo's soaps, but I mixed the Fig and Pineapple rum mallards about 50/50 and got a really cool Aventus like scent. The pineapple cuts the sweet jamminess of of the fig soap considerably. If you happen to have both soaps and like Aventus give it a shot!

Big ups!

I'm a big fan of mixing and layering scents. I just mixed Maxima Vetiver with Mallard Passion Fruit. Wow!

Be your scent composer Smile

Here are my thoughts on Aion Mallard Coconut Fig shaving soap and matching aftershave. I tried posting a pic, but it's not working right now so I'll try again soon. Smile

I bought Mallard Coconut Fig because I love coconut, and figured I would like it combined with fig. And, because I find Aion soaps (made by Grooming Dept.) to be great performers and very nice on my skin.

When it arrived, I tried smelling for the coconut and couldn't find it. I was disappointed. I couldn't figure out what the scent of Coconut Fig was. I was expecting a sun lotion-type coconut. It's actually more of a toasted coconut, and is so integrated into the overall scent that I had to let it come to me.

I've shaved with it three times now, and it's really grown on me. It's a rich scent that's hard to describe. It's got jammy fig, some toasted coconut, and another mixture of accords that I haven't smelled together before. The Grooming Dept. website lists the notes as: Coconut, Fig, Almond, Honey, Davana, Vanilla, Tonka, Sandalwood. But to me, it's more of its own scent rather than a collection of notes that I can easily identify.

What I have come to appreciate is that when Mo makes a soap, it's his creation. It's often unique. For example, my first Grooming Dept. soap was Ketoret (an incense scent), and it's such a masterful creation I kept wanting more. Coconut Fig is something I experience as a unique creation. It's slightly sweet, and with the matching aftershave, lasts a long time. I get hints of it all morning long. I might describe it as a gourmand scent. Perhaps others can describe it better? I'd like to hear your impressions of the scent.

Performance and skin feel is, as always with Aion/Grooming Dept., top level. It's protective and slick, and my skin feels very nice during and after. I'm looking forward to it being part of my rotation.
