I will look at Henson.  Agree on the cost observation, but James makes a work of art and it's a killer shave.  I think the Tatara and Blackbird are the value plays in the shave world.

My thoughts exactly. I love my Ambassador. It's a modern work of art, best knurling in the industry, shaves great, and has a lifetime warranty.

I'll also add unlike some other high priced offerings you won't feel like you were beat on the price after buying one whether it turns out to be your thing or not.
Unlike some other high priced offerings that look purdy and are shiney but turn out to be the emperor has no clothes from a performance standpoint the Rex doesn't suffer from that problem. You may not like the shave for other reasons but it won't be because it can't or doesn't get the job done to a very high quality standard even in an unskilled hand.

I would go for the Carbon Stainless with a ++ plate, it has just pegged my Wolfman WR1 0.86.

I appreciate everyones assistance in my latest endeavor to stimulate the economy. I ordered a REX Ambassador. It's been under consideration since its' release. Not surprisingly, other recommendations have got me thinking, what's next after the Ambassador?

I second Celestino’s opinion - a Ti BlackBird would be a very nice addition from aesthetic and experiential standpoints . I share most of your preferences and am extremely glad that I purchased one.

The REX Ambassador is an excellent razor. First shave today and results compare to a WR2 1.25 SB with the setting on the REX at 4. Quite pleased.

Great stuff. It’s a winner in my book too. How did you like that knurling?
