A question about Schick injectors

It's too bad more wet shavers don't try a vintage injector as they are usually dirt cheap to buy and quite frankly shave better than DE as the blades are thicker and as a result more rigid. They are also easier to shave with. The downside is only two blades are currently being made (possibly three), however they are superb ones. The heads are small and can navigate under the nose easily and the angle is idiot proof. Well, almost. None of that silly AC "wiper blade" stuff here. I often think that if Schick would have hosted the Cavalcade of Sports decades ago instead of Gillette that things would have been a lot different. It's simply a better mousetrap.

Unfortunately, the injector blades don't work for everyone. I have tried almost all of the vintage injector razors, but to no avail. The blades are just terrible for my skin, for some reason. I still have a Schick Adjustable razor in my collection as I love the look of this razor, along with the fact that it is an adjustable. I keep revisiting it, every so often, but the shaves are not, remotely, as good, comfortable and close as with my DEs.

It is wonderful that there is a plethora of razors, for all of us to use.

There can be a balancing act of matching the right blade to the right injector razor, however you would be the first that did not like the modern "Chick" (Chinese Schick blade) that I have read of if indeed you have tried that particular blade.

I have tried them and they just don't work, very well, for me, for whatever reason. Nonetheless, now that we are conversing about this, I plan to shave with my Schick Adjustable, again, just because I haven't used it in quite some time.

By the way, I know a few friends who, also, don't get on with the injector blades and razors. However, as I had mentioned, previously, we are extremely fortunate to have such a plethora of options to choose from.

Btw, the adjustable M is easy to find but considered too mild by some, though I don’t agree. However, I have both a regular M1 and an M3 with the “Protector” travel guard, and the protector version has a significantly wider blade gap than the regular version. They both provide the same range of movement, but the whole range is shifted farther from the blade on the protector.

The point I was trying to make is, the M is (IMHO) a good way to try out injector shaving. It’s easy to find in good condition, and available in two different aggressiveness ranges.

I have an M Model and use the highest setting 7 for my face except for when I shave the chin and around the mouth when I dial down to 5. Works like a charm for me. Great razor.

At this point in my new shaving career, I will say that so far I like the Schick Adjustable with the chickII twin blades from Japan.
While I have not tried any high end razors, I have well over a thousand dollars invest in new and used razors in the $100 range.
