I strongly disagree with this. I feel his scents are incredible (I own 9 of them). It's also worth noting that the scent descriptions on his website are very accurate. Wholly Kaw's scent descriptions on the other hand are a total joke. I would never buy another puck of Wholly Kaw without first buying a sample.

You put scents in front of the base itself for GD?

Scent is pretty subjective. IMO you buy GD for the bases then scent. Some soap makers like Strop Shoppe scent was better than the base itself.

I think a few agree that scent isn't Mo's strongest point. Why a few are really looking for that unscented tubs.

gone to Carolina in my mind
I would cut jaxstraww straw some slack. If someone does not GD soap scents, that is fair enough in my book, even though like many of us, it is to me a bit like not liking the door handles on a Maserati.

Thanks mate.

I'm all good though. Your right on about the car analogy. We each have talents. Some things we do better than others. Not to say our secondary talents suck they just aren't our best talent.

From the soaps I used of Mo's the base stands out. The scents have been secondary. Same with Wholly Kaw.

I was a huge Strop Shoppe fan. I think her scents are better than what Declaration and B&M do but her base for me seriously sucked.

The base of GD is unmatched. I put it ahead of everything on the market.

Luckily I just happen to love the scents too.

Proof once again that the sense of smell is highly subjective and can differ markedly from person-to-person. Actually.....I find the scent descriptions of WK to be right on the money. Never had an issue. Same with GD. But...that’s my nose. Your nose may vary..

Have you tried ‘Merchant of Tobacco’ and ‘Project Leather’?

I just had to laugh at the names as they make no sense whatsoever

But not just my opinion... the internet is covered with reviews saying how neither of these scents come close to their name/description.

WK scents are weak for the most part and to be frank I think A&E & DG are just as good and smell a Helluva lot better. Am still waiting on a GD soap to try.
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I am a big fan of WK scents and performance and will have to agree with you here. However, I've seen somewhat of the same with GD and others. For example, GD's Absinthe & Leather smelled like cheap furniture - no absinthe whatsoever. I dont want to make a big deal here and this doesnt mean the soaps are "bad", it's just the soap name doesn't always align with the actual scent.
