I look forward to hearing and seeing all the cool new merchandise. Mostly I like interacting with all of you
Many of you are friends or have been socially acquainted here and on other threads….for many many years. There will always be a clash of opinion even amongst friends AND family
Those are the facts
When an active participating member here or at any other shaving forum gives you a warning of a Merchant of Chaos, it’s your responsibility to check that out. A Merchant of Chaos has a brand; it’s Confusion and the Division of People. Without an audience there’s no energy to feed
Amidst confusion, original subject matter gets derailed and more confusion surfaces causing tensions. There’s a difference between disappointment and anger. The Merchant cannot distinguish that and draws as many people into this confusion as possible. People will say things to each other in this confusion they may not necessarily mean or the interpretation isn’t clear. Unfortunately it will be too little too late and suspensions or possible banning of members will be forthcoming
Rob, you talking in code or drinking heavy again ? Dumb it down for your Hillbilly friend will ya ?
With the talk of the Gin & Tonic I’d love a road soda!
And absolutely will help you out here Sir. There was a Flipping Thread somewhere on here the other day. I chose NOT to get banned a couple days ago because I recognised a Merchant of Chaos and gave members here fair warning. Subject matter like flipping can get heated amongst people and that energy is how the Merchant feeds. It’s very important to know the MoC has no interest in shaving gear and even less in the community it operates in. We are all here with a common interest…..shaving stuff
It’s very hard for many people to see the Merchant because it’s brand is confusion. The MoC operates with an audience, they pull as many in as possible which causes more confusion. People will temporarily lose their minds and say things to each other amidst this confusion because each individual has an opinion which is neither right nor wrong, it’s individual interpretation. The words used between each other can result in being banned here.
An example of how the MoC operates? I’m glad you asked. Lets pretend you have a gorgeous Declaration BoK Theo with a B5 which even makes it more special. You love this brush but personal issues come up and you need to raise some capital but would like the brush back in a month or two. You sell the brush, do a virtual handshake with the buyer and all is well right? WRONG. The buyer was a Merchant of Chaos and the moment that brush arrived is as fast as it went out to a new owner for triple cost basis. In fact if it could, the MoC would have you ship directly to its new owner, save time and postage. It’s important to know the MoC has no interest in shaving gear and even less in the community it operates in (I’ll only say it twice).
Can you get banned for this? No, no you cannot Dave. That’s an integrity thing Sir. But I’m glad you asked.
I’ll address your last question; How do you shut down a MoC? There’s a few moving parts. Patience always. Next, it lurks in the Want to Buy section where you post your wish list. When the MoC finally surfaces it’s much easier to dispel. Don’t look at it, talk to it, don’t invite it in. Continue having fun with and doing business with well respected members and the Merchant of Chaos fades away………
