I think that restraint in buying shaving gear probably has something to do with one's age and stage of life. At some times in the past, I showed a bit of restraint; but now, at age almost 75 and retired, with very few hobbies, I see no reason at all to restrain myself. I gave up some time ago on the idea that I had to use up all of my gear before I was forced to stop wet shaving (or until I died). At this point, if I feel like trying something new, then WTH, I'll buy it.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the support.

I concur, moderation is the best medicine. I only bought one soap, no shopping sprees or piling up of debt. I just hope it is what I expect it to be. Scents are so subjective, it's hard to know what you are getting. We shall see.

So I lasted 2 and a Half Months in the NO BUY RESTRAINT and I'm out. I don't feel the need for a reset andstarting over. I have accomplished what I wanted. I no longer purchase mindlessly but give thought to a purchase in comparison to what I already have in the hoards of stuff. This brush was a favorite of mine that I traded for Alan's professionally High Polished Rockwell 6S. I will ALWAYS have that razor andit was a good trade but I still missed this unique brush from Wolf Whiskers. He knew if he ever sold I would be interested in getting it back and since he's hunting a Wald Brush he made an offer I couldn't refuse. My Official Restraint is done but my new minset will continue as I mve forward. I not only feel a sense of freedom to buy but a sense in freedom to NOT buy.....Again, my misson in breaking the buying binge cycle was successful............I think, Now somone pass me a Beer ! Nice brush Dave in KY  Happy2  This annual restraint is basically an exercise in mindfulness. It’s good to periodically assess and consider our behaviour when it comes to shaving related purchasing. It’s also fun to give each other a good natured hard time about stuff. At the end of the day, if you enjoy the products and the processes and you’re not hurting anyone then more power to you. Shave on brother.
