If there is a difference in blade curve, it is slight. I can't tell with my old eyes or pictures either ... but here is a couple of pics. I tried to take one to show the slight difference in curvature of the cap, close to the guard.

I've considered running them side by side but with the fluid adjustment there is no way to tell if the gaps are the same. I could put feeler gaiges on them I suppose but that might be more science than I'm willing to undertake. Of course, now that I think of it, should be fairly easy to stack the feeler gauge leafs and clamp the heads until they are tight. Might be an experiment worth running here in a bit.

Well...I had not heard that but after looking back at his IG post it says stand is optional. Murat musta meant his option...and not yours! Ha!

I can't wait for you guys to get the 2021 in hand.

Amazing collection, LOOT. Thanks for the comparisons of the various models, it’s something I’ve wondered about and your insight is always appreciated.

I’ve only got the 2019 but really looking forward to the 2021. I see you’re also a man of taste with that whiskey barrel, very nice!

That is an awesome collection my friend and maybe its just me, but the box would be completely wasted on me!! I'll never understand why a Mfg'r would push something like that on an end user. I understand its slick for the presentation of the razor but to me an un-needed expense as I'm sure it probably adds $50+ to the overall cost. I just don't have the room for anything like that in any cabinet in my bathroom and it would be an inconvenience to have to go look for it in a closet somewhere just to get the razor to shave. I'm afraid that as soon as I received the razor the box would wind up in the garbage and thrown out on trash day!! There should be an option to buy the razor without the fancy box cause to me its just a cost burden and serves no purpose to me once the razor is in the cabinet ready to use. I can remember this was an issue that was brought up with Raw Shaving as quite a few didn't care for the box their razors were shipped in and thought it was a wasteful expense too!!

On the other hand I'm liking the finish on the 2021. It's nice to see a brushed look on the top cap...

Wonder if the 2021 will fit in my original Barbaros & Rocnel stand

Those are some nice close pics. I sure can't tell what's the difference, if any, interested to know though. Not sure how one can accurately tell the difference.

Oh man, I get it. Totally agree with you too. An option to get rid of the box and stand would be nice. I have 3 boxes stacked up in a cabinet now. I do use the stands for display (not sure why, no one cares but me) at times when razors are sitting around not being used. Fair points all, Mr Head.

Thanks for the kind words, Mr Vult.

As to the whiskey, its interesting. Southern Grace Distillery is a local producer. I actually did the construction documents for the build. We took an abandoned NC prison and installed a couple of stills inside. Affectionately called Whiskey Prison. At the time, it was the only distillery located within a rehabbed correction facility in the US, may still be, I dunno.

A couple years ago, they started barrel aging to get whiskey. They sell the once used barrels. I just got a couple to use as planters around the house.

As you guys can tell from my razor pictures, self control isn't my strong suit, so I dont drink anymore! Haha. 10 years sober as of the 11th.

10 years as of the 11th congratulations sir, well done, thank you for sharing.
I think I've had that same lack of self-control through different things, so I get it!

So, I loaded both razors with new Personna blades and went to work. I used my feeler gauges to set both razors at 1.45mm gaps, as best I could. After using them side by side, if there is a difference, it is minor. Both are fantastic shavers.[Image: 92617a4e95bd9dfb838f4b27e708bd7a.jpg]
